Create the company foundation

Welcome to PITCH Owner 02. In this module, you will set the company profile and the business-wide defaults that PITCH uses as starting values. One careful save shapes the workspace identity, customer-facing information, local time behavior, and the first values used in estimates and proposals.

Enter verified business information

Open Settings and find Company Profile and Defaults. Enter the verified company name, business contact email, phone number, timezone, and address. Choose the timezone that matches the company's operating location so dates and times behave correctly. Upload the approved company logo as a PNG or JPG no larger than four megabytes. These identity fields should come from an approved company source, not memory.

Separate contact identity from sender authorization

The company email in this profile is business identity and contact information. It does not, by itself, authorize PITCH to send mail. The Outgoing Email page controls the connected sending mailbox, provider authorization, and delivery test. Keep the distinction clear: profile email identifies the business; the mailbox connection proves which account can send. Review both before customer communication begins.

Set the financial defaults

Next, set the three financial defaults. Representative commission is the company starting percentage used in representative commission calculations. Default tax feeds estimate totals. Default deposit seeds the down-payment value used when a proposal or estimate is prepared. Enter percentages deliberately and confirm the decimal format. These are company-wide starting values, so the team should still review every job before sending it to a customer.

Use approved terms and verify the save

Add only company-approved default terms. This text can carry into contract branding and customer documents, so it should match the company's current policy and legal guidance. Before saving, verify the company identity, timezone, logo, percentage values, and terms against the approved source. Select Save Company Defaults once, reopen the page, and confirm the values persisted. Perform the first review in a non-production workspace.

Complete the profile review

Now complete the guided practice. Verify identity and contact details, choose the correct timezone, confirm the logo meets the file rules, distinguish the profile email from the outgoing mailbox, review commission, tax, deposit, and approved terms, then save and reopen the page. The profile is ready when the workspace shows the correct company identity and the defaults provide accurate starting values without replacing job-level review.
